Sauna FAQs
How long are sauna sessions?
There are a number of variables such as the sauna temp or how acclimated you are to using saunas. Some choose to go “low and slow” while others go with a high temp, short and intense session.
How long does the sauna take to heat up?
This will vary based on outside temps. On a 35 degree day it will take roughly an hour to heat the sauna to 180 degrees.
Is the sauna insulated?
Yes, the walls and ceiling are insulated. There are 2 vents to provide air circulation while using the sauna.
What site prep or base is needed for the sauna? The sauna is designed to go on a flat, level gravel base.
What are the delivery requirements?
We can use our shed hauling equipment to get the sauna into place. Additional fees would apply if equipment such as a tele-handler or crane were needed to complete the delivery.
What are the electrical requirements?
A 250v 50 amp circuit is required. You will need to hire a licensed electrician to run power to your sauna.
Can I turn on the sauna remotely?
Yes! The sauna can be turned on via the HUMM heater app. This allows you the freedom to turn on the sauna from the comfort of your home or even schedule a date and time you want the sauna to turn on.
Are there exterior maintenance requirements?
The sauna has a standing seam metal roof, rot resistant LP Smartside siding and cedar decking and siding on the porch. Creating a maintenance free building.
Are there interior maintenance requirements?
The interior floor, walls and benches are made out of cedar wood. There are varying opinions on whether to seal or not seal sauna interiors due to potential sealer toxins. While there are sauna approved sealers, wax and oil applications, we choose to leave the interior untreated so customers can make an informed decision based on their personal preference.
Some sauna owners choose to only treat the bench surfaces due to it being a high contact point for sweat which contains salt and minerals.
